Wildflower Meadow

Full of vibrant native wildflowers and bursting with butterflies, bees and other insects, wildflower meadows are amongst the most beautiful and sustainable environments to promote biodiversity.   Making a traditional wildflower meadow need only be a tiny patch in a corner of the garden to a wide-open space.   Success depends on poor soil fertility, suppressed grasses, careful control of unwanted species and an owner’s flexibility to embrace the diversity and lack of predictability an evolving wildflower meadow brings.

This wildflower meadow has been sown on Hampshire chalk downland.  Excitingly, it evolves each year as new species emerge or battle with others for ascendancy whilst careful editing takes place.
